No child left behind

Our Daily Bread
The law called the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) had great intentions. It mandated that every child meet certain guidelines for learning by 2014. There was a LOT of controversy about how it was legislated and implemented!

There was another "no child left behind" act much earlier in history --- the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That act enabled every child of God to be included in heaven on earth and a life every after with God. The intention was that NO child was left behind! Hallelujah!

Holy God, we thank you for your "no child left behind" act of sacrificing your Son for us!

Foodie Friday
I am not complaining after the winter we had, but it is getting warmer so I don't want to spend as much in the hot kitchen. Here are a few things I am doing this Spring/Summer.

Grilling out
This is a summer treat. Throwing some burgers, steaks and chicken on the grill is a lot of fun. I sometimes grill out enough meat for several meals on Saturday or Sunday. That means I only have to heat up and clean the grill once!  Woohoooo!

Infrared oven
I bought a NuWave infrared oven at Kohl's a few months ago. I LOVE that gadget! I can bake quickly and easily, reducing the amount of heat in the kitchen. I also get great results for some of my favorites like tater tots and french fries with no added oil!

Crock pot
The gold ol' crock pot has many, many uses for easy meals any time of the year. I like the convenience AND I like that it doesn't heat up the kitchen!  Here are some new recipes I found this week. I will be trying them out the next few weeks!
