Our Daily Bread
I wrote about Psalm 46 a few weeks ago in my Psalm Sunday posting. I love that psalm! It was nice to have get a reminder of it this morning in the devotional.
I really liked the spirit of the person mentioned in the devotional. I am also a person who makes the most of the physical limitations of my body, but I never had the limitations she had(has)! Most of us wallow in our own realities instead of truly seeking to have an extraordinary life. I tease my friends that reality TV is so popular because folks can watch other folks whose lives suck more than their own!
As Christians, we can have an amazing life. A life full of peace and love and direction. Is it an easy life? I never said that. An analogy that use is that life in Christ is like having a cheat sheet to the hardest test of all time. We have a lifeline that we can call as much as we want!
Lord, thank you for being with us. Help us always look for you and rely on you!
Workout Wednesday
Last week I talked about the cross fit gym I use for some of my workouts. I went a few times in the last week. I am doing the least intense workout on the "board", which is fine. I augmented that workout with more reps that what was listed. I also added two more exercises. ;-p The "board" is a huge blackboard where the trainers list the different workouts. Each person picks one based on his/her fitness level. I have some goals for this year. I want to lose more weight and I want to do a hand stand push up before the end of the year. hehehe I can do this!
I also find that I need to vary my exercises so I don't get bored or one-dimensional. I am also walking, staring to run again, playing tennis singles again, doing Bowflex routines and other odds and ends exercises. It is a good thing to have variety. I found that I use a different set of muscles playing tennis than when running, doing my Blowflex routine than when doing a cross fit routine, etc.
I encourage you to get off the couch. Do something! If I can do it, anyone can!

From today's devotional:
With God behind you and His arms beneath you, you can face whatever lies ahead of you. —Ward
Let go, my friends! God will be there to catch you and hold you in his loving arms!
