Our Daily Bread
My friends tease me about my gregarious personality, especially when I am on a roll teasing them about anything/everything. After I say something particularly clever or funny, I laugh and say "It's a gift!" hehehe
The devotional today is about a very special gift -- the gift of eternal life. Actually it is sooooo much more than that if you can believe it! That eternal life doesn't start when we die. It starts the instant we give our hearts and lives to Jesus. We begin our journey of bringing God's will to earth (not just in heaven!).
The change. The growth. They are better than those little pellets you place in a glass of water to make little water monkeys! ha! It is more like a tiny mustard seed that can grow to be the center of your life if you just let him.
Lord, thank you for your gift. Help us rely on you instead of our foolish selves...
Technology Thursday
There is a new wireless networking standard emerging as folks need faster and more reliable wireless networking at home. It is called 802.11ac. Here is an article about it on the Netgear site. The speeds for this new standard can match the speeds of a wired gigabit network connection! Wow! That is the good news. The bad news is that you will need a new 802.11ac router and devices that support the new standard to use it! I checked out two of the routers on Amazon.com. They both run in the neighborhood of $200 right now (since the technology is new). I didn't see any adapters for a laptop or desktop available at this time. The Netgear site said "coming soon" for its A6200.
Routers:
Netgear R6300
Buffalo Technology WZR-D1800H AirStation AC1300
The bottom line? The routers are available. If you are in the market for a new router, consider buying one of these. It is more expensive than the current wireless N routers, but it is the latest and greatest and offers the best range and speed even if the devices are not ready to support it yet. If you really don't care about the latest and greatest, there are a LOT of good deals on wireless N routers and adapters out there. Devices such as the iPad, bluray players, etc. currently support that standard.

Let go, my friends! God will be there to catch you and hold you in his loving arms!
