Our Daily Bread
I don't know about you, but I have owned a few cars in my lifetime that required almost daily maintenance. Lord have mercy. I remember those days. My red Plymouth Duster that had no cushions left on the front seat and the driver side window wouldn't roll all the way up!
While we make time for daily maintenance on many things in our lives -- taking a shower to wash our bodies, style our hair (it takes some of us longer than others!), pick our clothes, do dishes, etc. We maintain our bodies and our homes and probably our cars too! hahaha The devotional talks about the daily maintenance we need for our spiritual lives. Yes! If you are reading this blog entry, you probably have a commitment to this! Praise God! A daily maintenance routine of prayer, Bible study and listening to God helps maintain our relationship with God! Lord, please draw us closer!
Our time to seek God is priceless. Being separated from God is unbearable!
Foodie Friday
Element Pizza
I found a Groupon deal for Element Pizza the other day, so I decided to try it. It was an interesting experience. The place is located in what used to be the Plugged Nickel bar at the corner of Chestnut and Third downtown. The changed the place around a lot to make more room for seating. I went after work and I was the only one in the place. I got their full attention, but missed out on some of the things I assume are always there like iced tea (tea bags were late) and change for a $20 bill. Neither was a big deal.
I ordered the pepperoni rolls, a spinach radicchio salad with red pepper vinaigrette and a 10" pizza with pepperoni, sausage, prosciutto and mushroom. The pepperoni rolls had a decent taste but we way too "doughy" for my taste. I ate one and took the rest for another time. The salad was excellent except for the croutons. It they had used better croutons (you know, not the $1 from Walmart) the salad would have been perfect. I really liked the dressing. The hand-rolled pizza came out hot and tasty. They use fresh mozzarella on their pizzas which adds a creamy goodness to the taste! The toppings were OK. There could have been more. The cost was in line with other pizza places like this in the area. It was a great deal with the Groupon.
Check them out sometime!
