Approachable

Our Daily Bread
Have you ever had people in your life that you were apprehensive about talking to or even approaching for one reason or another?  My sixth grade teacher was a very tall man that sort of beefy and had a booming voice.  He scared the crap out of me!  He was very kind and supportive, but he still scared the crap out of me!  I behaved in his class (if you can believe that!).

Mr. Wolfe is like God to me in some ways.  God scares the crap out of me, too, but I know he is approachable.  God is kind and loving and supportive.  He is also the Almighty God!  Have you ever read the stuff in Revelation?  Big freakin' deal here!  I love this verses in Ephesians 3:10-12:
10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Amazing!  God is approachable!  Approach him today!

Lord, thank you for allowing us to approach the most high and almighty God!  May we praise your name forever!

Technology Thursday
iOS6
Yes, I am talking about Apple stuff a lot because I like the Apple gadgets like the iPhone, iPad and iPod.  I ordered my iPhone5 last Friday.  It will arrive at my house tomorrow.  Guess what I will be writing about next Thursday?  ha!

I downloaded and installed iOS6 on my iPad last night.  It was pretty seamless (though this is not always the case).  I planned to wait until this weekend, but found at least on app update that wouldn't sync with my iPad until I installed the new OS.  I know I throw out a lot of technical jargon.  An OS is an operating system or the software that makes a device like a computer or smartphone or tablet computer run and do stuff.  Apps are the computer programs that run on top of an OS to do specific things like maps, word processing, games, etc.

Here are my impressions so far:
I like the turn by turn instructions on the new Maps app (it talks to me!), but I miss the public transit option. I hope Google comes out with a separate app.

Haven't noticed the Facebook integration much yet.

New mail interface is better.

The new music interface is better.

Haven't tried Siri on it yet.  That could be cool if I get used to the way to ask questions.  Siri is almost like a teenager to me -- you have to ask very specific questions to get the answers you want!

Apple also figured out I need a clock app on my iPad.  Whew...

It seems very fast, which is good.  I hate it when an OS slows down a fast device!

I will see how the new OS works with the iPhone5.
