Do not turn right or left...

Our Daily Bread
If you have read my blog posts or been around me for more than thirty seconds, you are keenly aware of the obvious: I am a outspoken and often silly old bear.  This leads to a life that is not ordinary (thus the name of this blog site!).  It is not always fun and games.  I get into trouble, sometimes often, because of the way I am.  I am still confused at times at whether I say things because God lead me to say them or just to make myself feel better.  I am thinking and praying about this...

But I digress!  I was trying to lead into the devotional with the first paragraph.  I get into trouble.  It is comforting to know that God is with us at all times.  Whether it is getting sent to the principal's office in elementary school or having financial difficulty as an adult or screwing up friendships with outrageous behavior, God's presence is with us at all times.

Do you get into trouble at times?  I know many of you that read this blog.  I know the answer is "yes!".  hehehe  Always remember God is with you.

Lord, thank you for always being with us.  Help us to not turn right or left, but walk on the paths you have for our lives.

Foodie Friday
Here is another use for quinoa that is healthy and "out of the box" for me.  I have all the stuff in the fridge and cabinets right now, so I will give it a shot this weekend.  ;-)

Quinoa Salad with Artichokes and Parsley

Cooking Light APRIL 2011

Yield: 8 servings (serving size: about 1/3 cup)
Total:32 Minutes

1 cup chopped spring or sweet onion
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1 (9-ounce) package frozen artichoke hearts, thawed
1 cup fat-free, lower-sodium chicken broth

1 cup chopped fresh parsley
5 teaspoons grated lemon rind
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Preparation
1. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and thyme; sauté 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Add artichokes; sauté 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Add broth and quinoa; bring to a simmer. Cover and cook 18 minutes or until liquid is completely absorbed.

2. Remove pan from heat. Stir in parsley, rind, juice, and salt. Serve warm or at room temperature.
