Truly seeing

Our Daily Bread
If you know me in the least, you know that I have had many issues with my eyes over the past four years.  I thank God for helping me overcome them with few side effects!  Praise God!  My favorite hymn is now "Be thou my vision".  Since I am a very visual person, I am very thankful indeed.

God gave us the Bible to help us see -- see through the sin and lies that has infected our lives and find truth.  With that truth is a life worth living.  A life of peace and love in God.  It is not always easy, like the many eye surgeries I had.  The result of seeing -- seeing what is really important in life makes it worthwhile.

Are you looking at life through God's Word or your own vision?  Let God help you find your way in this life and the next.

Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart!

Psalm Sunday
Psalm 61 talks about the wonderful comfort and place of safety that the author feels God offers him.  The author also acknowledges that God has heard his vows and has answered!

Psalm 61

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David.

1 Hear my cry, O God;
    listen to my prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;
    lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,
    a strong tower against the foe.
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
    and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5 For you, God, have heard my vows;
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Increase the days of the king’s life,
    his years for many generations.
7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;
    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
    and fulfill my vows day after day.
