Spiritual GPS

Our Daily Bread
My best friend and I are gadget geeks.  When he got his first GPS system factory installed in a new car, we loved hearing it give directions to remote places.  It was all fun and games until he was driving on the 270 loop around Columbus.  In between exits, the GPS voice said "Turn left now"!  He would driven into the median if he had listened!  It was sort of like the commercial where the guy turns into a boutique store when his GPS said to turn!

Our lives can be like that.  We can think we are following our spiritual GPS, but sometimes act blindly because we aren't really paying attention.  Yes, we need to listen.  We also need to use the discernment skills that God gives us.  "Go!" is a great commandment that God gives to all of us.  That doesn't mean we go wherever or whenever!

Lord, thank you for leading us with your GPS, the Holy Spirit!

Movie Monday
I saw the movie Branded last week.  It was an interesting choice. There weren't many other options as far as I was concerned.  There was a lot of junky movies out there!

Branded was about the proliferation (and world domination) of the marketing brands across the world.  It was set in Moscow, which was interesting.  The main character was a marketing guru that rarely missed when promoting a product.  I thought it was funny that he considered "marketing" one of his powers.  He decided to only use his "powers" for good!  What a hoot!  The movie was a little slow, but had some interesting turns throughout.  It was a bizarre movie.  It gave some insight into how they thought the human worked and how marketers exploited it.  Very interesting!

I give it two bear paws.  You can see it on video.  No need to see it on the big screen.
