No! Never alone....

Our Daily Bread
I was just as silly at times as a youth as I am now.  At least I had an excuse back then!  When we sang the hymn "Never Alone"  we would almost yell the word "No" on the chorus.  We knew in our hearts that we were never alone if we had Christ in our hearts!

It is funny to me how we forget songs and times like that in our adult lives.  We forget the promises that we learned as a youth or young adult.  We forget that Christ is there for us (and we should be there to serve him).  The problem is that I am not old enough to have a "senior moment"!  ha!  God sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in those that accept Christ.  What a wonderful promise!  I use analogies like:
-knowing the winning lottery number
-knowing that a difficult surgery will come out OK
-knowing that all of God's promises will come true
-knowing the details of the Apple iPhone5 before they are announced!

Ha!  I know I am a silly bear at times.  The point is that we have assurances.  Do we really rely on them at all times?

Lord, thank you for your Holy Spirit.  I know I am NO!, never alone.

Technology Thursday
Big Apple Announcement yesterday!
Unless you had your head in the sand yesterday, you probably heard about the big press conference by Apple to announce their Fall product line.  They announced the iPhone 5 and a product refresh of the iPod line.  Here is a quick summary:

iPhone 5
The iPhone 5 has a larger screen, but it is different then anticipated.  They stretched the screen a little bit taller and made the phone narrower to fit in your hand better.  It looks like a widescreen TV shrunk down to fit your hand!  It has the retina display introduced in the iPhone 4S.  It has a processor that is twice as fast as the 4S.  The back facing camera has the same number of megapixels, but they upgraded the lens and aperture and low light capabilities.  They upgraded the front facing camera to HD for Facetime calls.  They introduced iOS6 that will power it and some previous iPhones.  They introduced the 4G LTE capability to take advantage of the faster data networks.  They also improved the battery life to offset the battery-draining new features.  We will see how all of this works out!  They also reduced the weight and thickness by about 25%.  Pre-orders start September 14 with deliveries starting September 21.  The pricing structure is the same as the previous models.

iPod Touch
Apple introduced many of the same improvements from the iPhone 5 into the Touch.  It is an amazing little device.  Check it out.  They will continue to sell the previous model as well for a while.  Very cool.

iPod Nano
They changed the size the Nano again.  The very small version they introduced two years ago was WAY too small!  They made the screen larger AND they embedded Bluetooth into it!  Woohoooo!  I bought a Bluetooth adapter for my last one so I could use my Bluetooth headphones.

We will see how all of this pans out in the market place.  My friends who are Android fans say that Apple is catching up.  I say they jumped ahead.  ;-)  Again.
