Our Daily Bread
Sweet Brown had no idea how her image would be used and how her life would change on that fateful day. Her unique voice and heart felt expression of concern during a fire at her apartment was transformed into a dance mix that went viral on the Internet. I have to admit that the phrase "Ain't nobody got time for that" is part of my vocabulary now, especially when joking around with my roommate!
The song came to mind when reading the devotional. "If being “religious” means following a set of rules so we can look good—instead of enjoying a relationship with the Savior—" then Jesus ain't got time for that! ha! No, Jesus "offers forgiveness and love to all who want an intimate relationship with Him." Wow! Our God is so amazing!
Lord, thank you for offering a personal relationship with you! Please help us do our best to live for you!
Teaching Tuesday
I read half of CS Lewis' book Mere Christianity this week. Wow! Here is my favorite quote from the book so far:
Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. CS Lewis from Mere Christianity
The book starts out with a logical approach to the human condition and how humans work. I was taken off guard at first. The more I read, the more I was hooked! His insights spoke to his generation and are speaking to me now!
