The song Put One Foot in Front of the Other is one of my favorite holiday songs since it is from a cute Christmas season cartoon. Here are the lyrics. I thought of the song again while reading today's devotional.
When trying to follow God's Will, I feel there are two things to remember: put one foot in front of the other and move AND only be concerned with today. The first one I have no problem with. I am a doer. I put one foot in front of the other when walking or riding my recumbent bike or moving forward in my life. I can usually do this, but there have been exceptions (like getting my eating habits under control for the rest of my life). The second one is not so easy for me. I am a planner. How can I only be concerned about today when I want to buy Elton John tickets for November? God gave me an example of that last week. I bought tickets to see Totem by Cirque du Soleil. I hoped to take a date, so I prayed about who to ask. None of the names of guys I am interested in came to mind. Then God put the name of a close friend in my head that I hadn't spend time with this summer. He was thrilled when I asked him to go with me. When I told him about the prayer, he said hanging out with me that evening was also an answer to his prayers as well! Praise God
We never know what God is going to do with our lives from day to day. As a famous saying goes: What does it matter where the road goes as long as God is leading?
Lord, thank you for leading us to new and exciting adventures each day even when it seems like our normal life. Please help us follow you!
Movie Monday
I didn't get to the theater this week. There was only one movie that I considered seeing. It is the new Robert DiNiro film called The Family. It looked funny. I might have time to see it this week. I watched the Bluray of Star Trek - Into Darkness on Friday night in my home theater. It was pretty cool the second time!
The early Summer blockbusters are starting to come out on DVD and Bluray now. Keep your eyes open for Iron Man 3 and your other favorites! Christmas is a comin'!

We too can know this God and be assured of His presence. He has revealed Himself in His creation and in His Word. As we ask Him to make Himself known to us, we’ll learn that He is even more than the owner and creator of everything! - Our Daily Bread web site
