I am not an overly vain man, but I do have some vanities. I started using a cream of some kind or another on my face when I was in my early 30s. OK, my secret is out! I wish it would have done more good! hehehe I am not the kind of guy that would get botox. I don't want to look older than what I am, but I am not going to take risks with something like botox to look temporarily younger!
The devotional this morning talks about looking better on the inside through the power of God's love and forgiveness. We are instructed in Ephesians to put aside the vanities and lusts of our bodies and this world to focus on what is really important -- building character so you can be a better witness for Christ.
Lord, please help me look beyond this physical body to the character you are building on the inside!
Simply Saturday - San Francisco, here I come!
I am going to take a break from my usual writing schedule this week. The Hell you say! I am traveling to San Francisco this morning to meet up with my best friend. I really need to get the heck out of Dodge and have some fun. This is probably my last big vacation for the year (though I was invited to go to CA with a buddy of mine over Thanksgiving last night).
I did not overly plan this vacation. I learned my lesson! We have a few things we want to do and will play the rest by ear. I know what you are thinking -- who is writing Duane's blog? It is surely not Duane! hehehe My best friend wants to take lots of pictures. I want to visit a good friend that lives out there. We will use our CityPass book as we feel like it. We will also see Beach Blanket Babylon!
I will update my blog with our activities (within reason). I hope you enjoy the change of pace. I am sure I will get the shakes and return to the regularly scheduled programming as soon as I return!
