On Location: San Francisco Day 1

The flight to San Francisco was fine. The flights were on time with no major incidents on the planes like screaming children or rude flight attendants. Of course the free drink tickets from Southwest helped make the flight a lot more friendly!

We found the shuttle stop after a short period of disorientation while leaving the airport. We got to the hotel, but our room wasn't ready yet. We got something to eat and walked around Union Square, which is only a few blocks from our hotel. I like the hotel a lot though it is on the cusp of a not-so-nice area of SF. I can deal with it.

We met up with my buddy that moved here from Louisville about 7 pm for dinner and drinks. We ate at a restaurant on Castro called The Sausage Factory (don't go there...) The Italian food is wonderful. I had tortelinni in cream sauce with peas and prosciuto ham. Yummy! We hit a few bars after that, but it was a little early to be out. We ended up at the Lone Start (a bear bar). We met several nice guys to hang out with during the course of the evening. There were some interesting personalities around, especially the one who held several conversations with himself!

We made it back to the hotel and collapsed into bed after a long day.

We are going to get breakfast now and buy somestuff at Walgreens. We are supposed to meet some friends later for happy hour. I wll let you know what we see today.
