We are Family

Our Daily Bread
I have been fortunate to witness and experience the church family at its best. I try not to think about the times when I witnessed and experienced the worst.  ;-(

An example of the best is what I saw and heard last night. We had a new member join us to help serving a meal to some homeless folks. His wife of many decades passed away in January. He was rebuilding his life after this terrible loss. Two of the other members helping out found out about his loss and took him under their wings. They assured him that he was not alone. They invited him to their home to talk and fellowship. We all talked about other opportunities to be active in the church to assure him that he was truly not alone.

We are not alone. We have our church family -- the most important reason to be active in a church or parish. We are family.

Foodie Friday
I made a simple ham and cheese quiche for an Easter brunch. It was very tasty, especially considering how simple it was to make. Here is the recipe. I recommend adding another egg or two (4 or 5 eggs) to fill up the shell. If not there is a lot of extra crust at the top.
