Don't belong here

Our Daily Bread
I went on a church retreat with some friends to St Louis many years ago.  We stayed in a hotel and had our church retreat stuff throughout the day and early evening.  It was nice.  At night, some of us decided to walk around downtown St Louis.  Yes, stupid young people walking around downtown St Louis AT NIGHT.  At one point, I joked with my friends: "Even that ATM says 'you don't belong here.  Go back to your hotel'"!  ha! 

This world is sort of like that for Christians.  We belong here because God calls us to make heaven on earth according to His will.  We do not belong here with all the hate and prejudice and worldliness that leads so many astray.  We have a higher calling.  Much higher!

Lord, thank you for giving us love and purpose.  We love and praise you!

Movie Monday
I saw the movie Killing Them Softly yesterday.  Yikes.  I see a lot of movies.  This was one of the worst ones I have seen in a while.  It was very disappointing.  There were one or two bright spots, but I won't spoil the movie for you if you can't resist seeing train wreck of a movie.  Brad Pitt plays a hit man.  James Gangolfini played another hit man.  It was odd. 

I give this movie one star only because of the one or two bright spots.  May not even be worth seeing on Netflix.
