Our Daily Bread
I remember when the Windows operation system first became commonly used. It became very popular because it gave users a visual interface into their computers, like looking through multiple windows.
The devotional used the same kind of analogy for Christians. We are like windows for others to see Christ inside of us! I call it Windows JC! They should see Christ both inside and outside of us, in how we think and feel and how we act towards others. I really liked this analogy. I also liked the way the devotional talked about the consequences of sharing Christ. St Stephen was stoned. We could possibly be outcast from the folks that we think are cool or want to be accepted by. Our love for Christ should transcend all of those things!
Lord, thank you for giving us a reason to live that is beyond our understanding at times. Please help us trust you!
Movie Monday
I saw The Hobbit in 3D IMAX on Saturday. I splurged a little as I don't usually spend that much for a movie!
What I liked: The cinematography, costumes, special effects and 3D were amazing. Peter Jackson does a great job capturing the essence of the books. The characters were endearing and scary and fun. Very cool.
What I didn't like: No closure. Like most folks, I am disappointed that they split this out into three movies. Oh well. I will read The Hobbit to find out how the story ends. I will have to wait for the other movies. It is my understanding that they also included some stuff from other books as well as The Hobbit. We will see how that works out.
I give this movie three bear paws. See it on the big screen!
