Our Daily Bread
In the previews for the animated movie Frozen, there is a scene where the snow man and the moose see a single flower growing in the middle of a vast sea of snow. They both run for it and hilarity ensues!
Humans can be like that too. When we see something unusual and beautiful, we can run towards it. We can let things get out of hand and begin to worship it. My prayer is that we find the true beauty that is worthy to be worshiped and praised -- the Rose of Sharon, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! He is a flower in the desert. He will help us live a life of purpose and love. Praise God!
Lord, thank you for all you do for us. Please help us do all we can for you.
Foodie Friday
My roommate and I went to PeiWei for supper last night. If you are not familiar with this restaurant, it is a sister restaurant to PF Changs, but without the big horse and big price tag on the meals! You can either eat in or take out. The dining room is tastefully decorated and comfortable. If you eat in, the staff brings your meal out to you after you order at the front counter. The food is a nice combination of Asian favorites such as lettuce wraps, fried rice, noodle dishes and some similar recipes served at PF Changs with different names (PeiWei Spicy is like a General Tso chicken). You have a choice of white or brown rice. I like that a lot! They also have great spring rolls and pork egg rolls.
I had the PeiWei Spicy chicken with brown rice. Very tasty dish that was big enough to split into two meals (though I wanted to eat it all last night!). My roommate had the caramel chicken with white rice. He really enjoyed that.
Check out their web site for a restaurant near you.
