It matters

Our Daily Bread
There have been so many times in my life where I prayed and prayed and it didn't seem to make a difference, whether the prayer was for myself or for others.  Then I remembered that there were several times that the answer was discovered many years later!  It does matter!  Our timing is not always God's timing!

We can see this theme of "It matters" in so many ways if we look at our lives.  It matters that we pray.  It matters that we love others like we love ourselves.  It matters that we put aside our sinful nature to live more like Christ.  All of these truly matter as we have the honor and privilege to live for and serve the Almighty God!  Let's think of all the things that we do today and determine if they really matter.  Let's try to get rid of the things that really don't matter!

Lord, our time is in your hands.  Please help us do the things that really matter!

Technology Thursday
CES 2014
The annual Consumer Electronics Show is going on this week.  I would like to go sometime for the fun of it!  How much fun would that be for a gadget geek like me!  Here are a few highlights so far.

Wearables - Lots of wearable technology coming out this year, especially fitness devices.  There are several new entries in this growing market.  The funniest thing is that I saw something like this on a ride at Disney World!  Wow!

Curved TVs - Still not sure of the value of curved or bendable TVs.  Doesn't make much sense to me!

4K TVs - The move to ultra high resolution TVs keeps growing.  Just like the 1080p TVs years ago, there is a dearth of content to watch on them and the TVs are very expensive!  I may have to stop buying DVDs or Blurays and stream everything from now on!

Tablets - there are some new entries into the tablet market, of course.  We will see how those do in the market.  Acer introduced some new noteworthy models.

Laptops - Ultrabooks that can double as tablets are making a move in the market.  We will see if they will work out this time.  The dearth of Windows tablet apps is a problem.
