Our Daily Bread
One of my favorite stories to tell in EFM was about being open each and every day to God's leading. It is exciting and often offers unexpected blessings. It can also be a little scary considering I am a planner and I don't like to leave things to chance (or the Holy Spirit). I can testify to the devotional this morning that opening yourself up to "being the church" and "being God's servant" can take us out of our comfort zone and into a heavenly zone!
The devotional talks about a woman who had a choice: be the church or go to church. It sounds like the same thing, doesn't it? Sometimes we need to help others instead of our own good plans, but not necessarily the plans that God has for us.
Let us be open to His leading, even if it messes up our plans for the day! May the Lord be with us!
Technology Thursday
Even though I have two or three map apps on my iPhone, I still prefer to have a GPS for my car. The screen is larger, it gets a signal when I can't get a phone signal, and it allows me to use my phone for calls while on the road. I lost my Garmin unit several months ago, so I finally got around to buying a new one. I chose the Magellan Roadmate(r) 9412t-lm 7" GPS Device With Lifetime Map & Traffic Alerts RM9412SWLUC on Amazon.com. I found a great deal from one of their vendors. I liked the 7" screen, the free lifetime maps and traffic info, and the Magellan reputation and ratings of the device. Like a said, I got a good deal. I bought mine for $30 less than the going price today. ;-)
