Trusting God
Based on Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, pg 245
i have never been much of a heavy weight lifter. You know those guys at the gym that need a "spotter" to make sure they don't hurt themselves when they lift huge barbells. For me, having a sweaty muscular man stand that close to me when trying to lift weights was a huge distraction! LOL
It takes a lot of trust to let someone help you like that in a time of need. You wouldn't ask the proverbial 98-pound weakling to spot for you. You need someone stronger than you. As you grow stronger while developing your muscles, you need an even stronger spotter to assist you. Do you see where I am going with this? As one friend likes to say "I see what you did there..." ROFL
Trusting God takes the same kind of spiritual training of the trust-muscles, or much more so, than the weight training for your physical body. The coolest part is that we have the ultimate spotter, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Even more than being the spotter, he owns the gym, the strip mall where the gym is located and created the world it resides in! Wow!
The devotional advises us to say out loud the prayers and praises of God during difficult times. IMHO, we should also say these things when we are having good times. We can do this. May the Lord be with us!
