Our Daily Bread
Have you read the want ads lately? Craigs List ads? It is almost like a second or third language all its own! LOL I had to look for a guide to the abbreviations on the Internet when looking for a chair on
Craigs List recently! There is one type of ad that most folks get (and usually need) -- Help wanted.
I could relate to the devotional today as it talked about making it difficult to go back to your previous line of work. I started a new job two months ago. I can barely imagine going back to my old job and the way things used to be. Elisha couldn't go back after his oxen were slaughtered for a huge meal! That is commitment!
I also understand how following Christ changes our priorities and our decision making process. I have changed the criteria I look for in a husband since I have been back in church the past eight years. God knows what is best for me. I still hang on to the old ways too much. God is helping me with that as I move closer to him. I still have so far got go.
My prayer is that we are all open to the leadership of the Holy Spirit each and every day. May the Lord be with us (and us listen!).
Foodie Friday
I didn't eat very well this week because I indulged myself in some of my favorites because my birthday was yesterday. Here are some of them. I may hit the ones I didn't have this weekend, THEN it is time to make my decision to eat better and stick with it. Whew..
Outback: Outback sirloin with all you can eat shrimp. Blooming onion for an appetizer. Chocolate sundae for dessert. They have the BEST chocolate syrup!
Dairy Queen: foot long chili cheese dog, fried mushrooms, hot fudge sauce. They have the BEST hot fudge. LOL
McDonalds: Sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and hash brown. (no chocolate sauce)
Firebirds: Had a great BLT salad and a side of Southwest au gratin potatoes. Mmmmmm
El Rancho Allegro: chicken chimichanga with green sauce with a side of black beans.
To be had:
Mr. Hero
Dairy Queen: peanut buster parfait (I have a coupon)
