Seesaw

Jesus Calling devotional guide
A friend of mine gave me the Jesus Calling devotional guide by Sarah Young. ODB was down this morning, so I looked at the devotional for today. I loved the analogy about how trust in God is like a seesaw -- "when our trust goes up, worry and fear automatically go down!" (p. 233)  Wow!

It also talks about energy and time. Both are limited and precious. The more time and energy we spend on worry and fear, the less time and energy we have to spend on the things of the Lord.

I think it is amazing that a simple playground item can teach us so much!  May the Lord be with us!

Movie Monday
I made it to the theater last week and saw Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.  It was quite the thrill ride!  Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner headline the movie with Simon Popp and Alec Baldwin along for the ride. It had a lot of action scenes, especially the motorcycle chase. Lots of plot twists, too. I agree with one friend of mine who said it was his favorite of the series.

I give this movie three bear paws. See it in Imax for all the action!
