We can laugh

Our Daily Bread
Some friends of mine used to laugh at the book of Revelation.  "That guy must have been on some good stuff!"  :-\  Yeah, we laughed at the time.  We really didn't understand!

I studied Revelation as a teenager with mixed results.  Laughing was one result.  A deep feeling of awe and majesty was the other!  I realized then the kind of God we had!  For the rest of my laugh, I usually ask "Why not?" when we talk about the impossible miracles of the Old and New Testaments!  I try to keep that child-like faith in my every day life as I trust God completely.  No, I don't do it all the time.  I am working on it.  I still keep things back from God, mess them up and then cry out to God for help!  That reminds me of what the children of Israel did over and over in the Old Testament!

What is your vision of God?  A God to be feared and obeyed?  A God to be loved and worshiped?  Think about that this week and talk to God about it!

Lord, thank you for the way you have shown yourself to me in my life.  I want to be open to your Spirit every second of life.

Psalm Sunday
The psalm for this week is Psalm 29.  Wow!  This psalm goes perfectly with today's devotional!  How about that!  Isn't God amazing!  Read through it as you think about your vision of God.

Psalm 29
A psalm of David.
 1 Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings,
   ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
   worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

 3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
   the God of glory thunders,
   the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
   the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
   the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
   Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the LORD strikes
   with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;
   the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD twists the oaks
   and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

 10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
   the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11 The LORD gives strength to his people;
   the LORD blesses his people with peace.

Other Stuff
I had another busy day on Saturday.  I did stuff around the house all morning.  It is sort of clean now.  ;-p  I also rotated my mattress and fixed the bed skirt that has been a mess for a long time!  I got most of the laundry done and put away.  Finished vacuuming and dusting.  Whew.  After an online workshop with MediaShout, I spent the afternoon at the movies.  I saw Tower Heist and Puss in Boots.  I will review them tomorrow on Movie Monday!

I was very tired when I got home, so I took a short nap.  I set back all my clocks for the time change and then finished my D1 reading.  I wanted to watch the LSU-Alabama football game, but decided to go to sleep instead.  It looked like a classic!

Going to church this morning.  I plan to work on the yard this afternoon.  I hope it is the last mowing of the year!  hehehe  I have mens chorus rehearsal tonight.

Let go, my friends!  God will be there to catch you and hold you in His loving arms!
