Prayer changes things...

Our Daily Bread
It is very easy to be nice to folks that are nice to you!  Very easy indeed!  You invite them over for dinner.  They invite you over for dinner.  You text them with "Good morning".  They text you with "Good morning to you too".  Very easy indeed.  As Christians, it is the "others" that causes us problems!

You know those folks, don't you?  The ones that you avoid for whatever reason.  Either they said something bad about you or disagreed vehemently with you in a Bible study class or your own personal reason.  You go out of your way to be nice since you know it is the right thing to do.  But nooooooo!  They are still nasty to you!  Well, the Bible says to pray for those folks.  Many times, that is the only thing you can do!  Do not harbor bad feelings towards them.  Look at them through God's eyes.  I know what you are thinking -- God is the only one who could love them!  That is not the right attitude, missy!  hehehe

Lord, please help us to love our enemies and those who hate us.  Help us pray for them -- and mean it!

Teaching Tuesday
Secret number 6 in The 100 Simple Secrets of Happy People is:

Cultivate friendships
After wisely choosing the company you keep (secret 5), cultivate those friendships!  The book says that folks want and need to feel apart of something.  They need to care about others and be cared about.  It is simple isn't it?

I will never forget how good my grandmother was at making new friends.  She lived until she was 85.  She missed her husband, two sons and most of her siblings who went on to Glory before her.  She pushed herself to make new friends and cultivate the friendships.  I never knew who I was going to find in her living room when I visited her.  A new friend from church.  The child of a old friend.  A long lost cousin.  She was amazing.  I think we can all learn from her!

Be a friend to have a friend!

Let go, my friends!  God will be there to catch you and hold you in his loving arms!
