Defining moments

Our Daily Bread
Most folks think that life is made up of defining moments, both good and bad. High school and college graduations. Marriage. Illness. Getting fired or laid off at work. Having children, and on and on.  What are your defining moments?

Our Christian life is made up of defining moments as well. The moments each of us give our lives to Christ. The moment we are baptized. The day of our confirmation. So many other times we can think of! Let us focus on the good times, the good memories and ask God to help us forget the bad times. We may still be feeling the repercussions of our bad times, but we don't have to be slaves to them!

Let us move on. Let us create new defining moments for God!

Technology Thursday
Technology helps a lot of different industries, even ones that have been around for hundreds of years. I saw this on Wednesday while visiting two distilleries in Central Kentucky.  Here are a couple of examples:

Temperature: The temperature requirements for cooking the mash used to make bourbon are very stringent.  If the temperature in the vats get too high or stay too high, then the yeast will die. If the yeast dies, then the batch is lost. One distillery told us a bad batch could be sold to make hand sanitizer!  And I am drinking that stuff!  hahahaha

Inventory: the supply of corn, barley and rye must be managed very efficiently to maintain a consistent mash and taste of the bourbon. It is tricky to manage the supply chain. Computers help them manage this to the ounce!

Vert interesting!
