Our Daily Bread
Things aren't always as they appear to be. Do you remember looking at circus mirrors when you were a kid? How about looking at things through tinted glass? How about the old ViewMaster toy with the wheel of pictures on it? As an adult, we see things differently through our sunglass or reading glasses. Things can be clearer or distorted depending on what we look through.
The devotional talks about how our lives look different when we look at it through the eyes of faith. Keeping our eyes on God helps us allay our fears and doubts. While the world around us seems to be in chaos, we can be confident in the fact that God is with us. We can be confident that we can show God's love others. We can put fear in its place -- in our rear view mirror!
Fear not, my friends.
PS: If you doubt how much fear can affect our lives, see the movie Inside Out by Pixar. OMG, it is so cute and funny and insightful!
Foodie Friday
Every once in a while I find a product that I like to make a staple in my kitchen. Last night, I used one of those products again and was reminded why I like it so much. It is Robert Rothschild Farm Cherry Pomegranate Habanero Sauce. It is pricy on amazon.com. I bought mine at Costco, though they don't carry it all the time.
This stuff is GREAT! A sweet and spicy taste that works on cocktail weenies, meatballs and grilled chicken. I sometimes use it for dipping sauce for egg rolls or chicken nuggets. Give it a taste!
