Remember when you were a child and you heard how Santa Claus keeps a list of who's been naughty and who's been nice? I was a little paranoid for a while about who was watching me! It is funny to me that many folks think God is the same way. The "nice" list will get to go to heaven. The "naughty" list will not!
The devotional does a great job of clarifying God's role in this world when it comes to our behavior. He is not watching us with the intent of "nailing us" when we sin or putting us on a naughty list. He instructs how to live. He gives us the freedom to live that way or suffer the consequences of our sins. He is there to listen to our prayers and to guide us when we ask for his help through the Holy Spirit. Praise God!
Lord, thank you for always being with us. Please help us to always live the right way and do our best for you!
