False teachers

Our Daily Bread
While working on my last master's degree, I was often mistaken for a professor since I was older than most of the students and the same age as the professors!  It often cause some humorous scenarios!  To be clear, I was not a false teacher.  I was just mistaken for a professor!  ha!

I have been reading a lot about watching out for false teachers the past two months.  What is up with that?  The readings from several of the New Testament books in EFM gave the warning.  This morning the devotional talked about it.  Let us all pray for discernment regarding false teachings and false teachers!

It must have difficult back then to figure out what this Christianity thing was all about!  It was brand new.  It seemed to fly in the face of society as well as traditional Jewish practices.  That wasn't easy to do!  ha!  Over and over there were folks who tried preaching something different than the true Gospel of Christ.

We can see the same thing today.  It seems to be easier to proclaim false teachings.  Get a little money and buy yourself some TV time.  Hire some actors to be your congregation and other ministers.  Wow.  Is it any wonder so many folks have been mislead!  Let us all pray for each other to find our way to God!

Lord, we thank you for truth.  Please help us discern the truth about you!

Psalm Sunday
We have been looking at songs of ascents for several weeks now. Psalm 134 is the last one!  This is another short one that also has lots of meaning.  Read it out loud a few times.  Try memorizing it and saying it throughout your day!

Psalm 134

A song of ascents.

1 Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord
who minister by night in the house of the Lord.
2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary
    and praise the Lord.
3 May the Lord bless you from Zion,
he who is the Maker of heaven and earth.
