I've got the joy, joy, joy

Our Daily Bread
WHERE?  Down in my heart!  WHERE! Down in my heart.... Did you ever sing that song when you were in children's choir or at church camp? There were always lots of smiles and laughs as at least one child would say Where? at the wrong time. They adults were amazed that the children had so much energy and, well, joy!

We sometimes joke that growing up "beat the joy" out of us. Even though we know we should have joy, we let the responsibilities of our adult lives steal that joy away.

Let's take a few minutes today to think about joy. How to get it back and how to never lose it again!

Teaching Tuesday
We studied the past 60 years or so in the last chapter of our church history book this week. I like those words "last chapter"!

Some major themes:
Vatican II
Rise of Pentecostal-type churches
The move away from the Church in society
Ecumenical movement continues
The idea of Hell has diminished

Think back on how the church has changed in your life time.  Very interesting!
