Self-pity

My Utmost for His Highest
Wow, what a devotional today. I am often smacked in the face (in a good way) when I read this devotional. Today was no different.  Here are a couple of great excerpts:

No sin is worse than the sin of self-pity, because it removes God from the throne of our lives, replacing Him with our own self-interests.

“God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you…may have an abundance…” (2 Corinthians 9:8)— then learn to lavish the grace of God on others, generously giving of yourself. Be marked and identified with God’s nature, and His blessing will flow through you all the time.

These insights are amazing. I never thought about my habit of self-pity. This can take form in many ways and in many of our daily habits. Let us take a look at our lives and identify some areas where we tend to dwell in self-pity. A pity party is soooooo unpretty!  LOL
