Unshaken and not stirred

Our Daily Bread
My favorite movie series of all time is the James Bond series.  Yes, there is debate on who is the best Bond (DUH! Connery!).  There is no debate on the many sayings that are common in every movie.  The one I "adjusted" today is "Shaken, not stirred" when he orders his drink!

I loved the examples in the devotional today.  Job and a friend of the writer did not let circumstances affect their faith in God.  Everything was in God's hands.  They were "unshaken, and not stirred"!  Unwavering faith should be the goal of every Christian.  There is a human tendency to forget about God when things are going well, then we cry out to God and doubt him when they are not.  God can teach us his unwavering heavenly way of living if we continue to pray and study his word.  Praise God!

Lord, thank you for your love and patience.  Please help us always trust in you and put thihgs in your hands!

Teaching Tuesday
Didn't get a chance to do my readings yet.  I am studying Genesis and how the four sources influenced the approved version of the Pentatuech (first five books of the Old Testament).  Some things are making more sense after understanding the different points of view.

Have you ever played the game where you whisper a simple sentence in the ear of one person, then have them pass it on, person to person, around the room?  The original text can get blurred, intepreted, or completely changed.  In my opinion, the Bible was not blurred or changed by the different sources.  It was only interepreted from their point of view.

Let go, my friends!  God will be there to catch you and hold you in his loving arms!
