I used to work for a software company that was also the IT shot for a very large advertising agency. We learned about advertising and marketing through all different types of media. Getting to preview commercials for top brands was always fun! Commercials can't tell you everything about a product. They just introduce you to the product and entice you to experience it.
IMHO, the Bible is a commercial about God. A public service announcement about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It doesn't tell us everything about the object of our adoration and love -- it is only an introduction that entices us to encounter him! Praise God!
The next time you see a commercial on TV or at the movies, think about the Bible and our God!
