Do what I say...and what I did

Our Daily Bread
Did you ever have this conversation with your parents when you were a teen? "Why do I have to do that?"  "Because I said so!"  Yup, me too!  And I was  good boy!  ha!

One of the things I like the best about being a Christian is that we know there is a very good reason for each thing God tells us to do -- because it is the best thing for us!  AND, we know that Jesus gave us the perfect example of doing God's will when he was on earth -- he did everything he was supposed to do because he knew it was the best thing for us!  Leading my example.  It is not just "Because I said so!".  Praise God!

Lord, thank you for being our example and friend and guide!  We thank you and praise you!

Psalm Sunday
This is a "good one" as we think of the psalms!  Being a singer, I especially like it!  If you can't sing, then shout to the Lord or play the harp or blast a ram's horn -- do something to praise the Lord!

Psalm 98

A psalm.

1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
    for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
    and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
    the salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;
9 let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.
