Biting

Our Daily Bread
I think we all have a dark side.  A side that thinks, and says and does things that we are not proud of.  I know that may seem like a cop out or justification for our actions, but it is true.  One friend used to say "If haven't anything nice to say about a person, then come sit by me!"  Oh boy...

So being careful about what we talk about is so hard at times.  We find someone that is different or has treated us badly or has said things about us, it is very easy to return the favor (though it is no favor!).  We can get caught up in this bad cycle of saying things we shouldn't say.  We can say things that we know and shouldn't be sharing.  We can say things that aren't even true.  Where does that get us?  We feel worse about ourselves and hurt the other person.  Not good!

Let us pray for each other to manage our tongue.  Remember God hears every word!

Lord, the tongue is very small, but also very hurtful and cutting if used the wrong way!
