Who was he?

Our Daily Bread
I remember some old movies growing up where the masked hero would ride into town, save the day and then ride off into the sunset.  Wow!  The folks in town would watch him ride away and ask "Who was that masked man?"

Fortunately, Jesus didn't wear a physical mask like the Lone Ranger or Batman.  His true identity was a mystery to those around him, even to those who knew him best.  I am a believer in the prophetic scriptures of the Old Testament that point to Jesus.  The devotional talks about Isaiah 53, for example.  Yes, God revealed himself slowly over the course of history and we still don't get it today!

I pray that we will read and study God's Word as well as pray so we can truly know Him!

Lord, thank you for the preview of the coming of your Son in the Old Testament!

Foodie Friday
I like cooking a little lighter in the summer when I get the chance to cook.  I don't like having the oven on, but prefer to grill out when weather permits.  I found this great list of summer chicken recipes for you to peruse.

Here is a tip:  Not good a grilling or can't grill out?  Buy a rotisserie chicken at your local grocery store or Costco.  Shred the chicken to use in these recipes.
