A mighty wind...

There is a silly movie called A Mighty Wind, fictional documentary about some folk singers trying to make a come back during a folk music festival.  It is the same cast as Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show.  What a hoot!  Watch it sometime on your favorite movie source.

The early believers received a mighty wind at Pentecost.  It was not a silly movie, but the Holy Spirit sent down from above to power the new church.  The new believers said and did things after that never seen before by a human being!

I am a silly old bear.  I still believe the Holy Spirit can work that way today if we ask for it and believe it will happen.  Let's all pray for the Holy Spirit to blow through our churches and lives today!

Lord, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit to work in our daily lives!

Here a few notable technology stories from the week:
Microsoft loses big money last quarter
Is the beginning of the fall of Microsoft?  They lost billions of dollars last quarter.  Very unusual!

Apple rumors
Everyone knows that Apple is very hush-hush about their products and releases.  The latest rumors are about the iPhone 5 features and about a mini-iPad.  There are strong opinions on all sides of these discussions.  As I told my best friend "I don't want rumors.  I want hardware!".  ha!

NYC converts pay phones to wifi hot spots
In an interesting twist in the reuse of technology, New York City is repurposing pay phones into wifi hot spots.  The hot spots are free!  If the pilot program is successful, they will put the hot spots in Manhattan and all five boroughs.  Very cool!

Amazon reportedly releasing an iPhone competitor
Yeah, another iPhone killer.  The Kindle Fire was not exactly a iPad killer.  Not sure why they think they can do better with a phone.  Oh well.
