Free...to serve God

Our Daily Bread
Short entry today!

It is easy to abuse our freedom. We are not thankful for it. We don't respect the sacrifices that were made so we could have it. We don't use our freedom for its utmost purpose -- to serve God freely. Wow! That was the most important thing I got out of the devotional. We shouldn't use our freedom to do what WE want, but rather to server God in the way we SHOULD.

Lord, please help us appreciate our freedom and use it to serve you better!

Workout Wednesday
How do you keep up your workouts and good eating habits while on the road? A close friend and I talked about this recently. He travels constantly for his job and has trouble with eating right and working out while traveling. Here are a few tips we came up with:
1. Do some quick calisthenics first thing in the morning to get your metabolism going (do this at home too if you don't workout first thing in the morning).
2. Always eat breakfast. Eat something even if it is only a protein shake.
3. Do something... Try to do some kind of exercise even if your days are full. Find some exercises that you can do anywhere like pushups, lunges, squats, planks, etc. that can give you a general workout, but not take a lot of space or equipment.
4. Eat as healthy as you can during those business meals or other meals on the road. Keep healthy snacks around so you don't get ravenous. Try almonds, walnuts, healthy snack bars (not all of them are so be careful), etc.
5. Do the best you can and don't beat yourself up when you don't. While on vacation, it is easyto eat way too much. It is OK. Just don't overdo it every day and don't beat yourself up over it. Do the best you can and have fun!

Let go, my friends! God will be there to catch you and hold you in his loving arms!
