If you love me...

Our Daily Bread
One of the silly things you might see on a TV sitcom or a romantic movie is this interaction between a couple: "Honey, if you love me, please bring me a beer..." or "Baby, if you love me, don't go out with the boys tonight...".  How funny we are to always challenge or test the love that others have for us!  Even funnier that we do it in the oddest ways!

Well, God has a more poignant request of us: "Duane, if you love me, keep my commandments."  Wow!  Or, in New Testament language: "Duane, if you love me, love others as you love yourself."  The KISS principle for being a child is this (in my opinion): Love God with all your being.  Love others as you love yourself.  Simple, but oh so difficult to do!

Lord, thank you for your love.  I want to show my love for you each and every day!

Movie Monday
I got to see one more this week -- John Carter.

John Carter
What an interesting fantasy sci-fi flick!  If you let yourself believe the possibilities in the movie and not think about it too much, it was a fun movie to watch.  There was romance, a ton of action, and super hero type person that was very likable.  My only problem with the movie is that it was a little too long.  At 2 hours 12 minutes, I was a little over it towards the end.  It kept my interest, however, and I was very surprised by the twists at the end.  I won't spoil it for you!  I think I may go back and see it in 3D.  The effects are supposed to be great.  I got my movie times mixed up and saw the regular version.

I give this movie two bear paws.  Very cool effects, humor and creative story line.  Definitely see it in the theater!

Other Stuff
I had a nice Sunday even though my Buckeyes lost their Big Ten championship game and the chance for a number one seed in the NCAA tournament.  ;-(  It was an interesting afternoon of basketball stuff as there were several surprised in the finals.  I thought the Bucks got a decent draw in the tournament.  We will see if they decide to show up this year.  A little luck helps as well!

I did a little clean up work in my landscaping and picked up branches in my yard.  It was so pretty yesterday!  My landscaping is trying to come up.  I hope we don't get another nasty frost that will kill everything!  Yikes!  I tried to wash my Escape, but there was something wrong with the Mr Clean car washing thingy I have.  I threw it away.  Not sure if I will buy another one or not.  I also got to talk with mi tigre a few times.  I really miss him.

The prayer service at church last night was nice.  We had a few people show up.  I needed the prayer time if no one else got much out of it!

I am going to cook a little bit tonight.  Make some quinoa bites and maybe some chili.

Let go, my friends!  God will be there to catch you and hold you in his loving arms!
